Downtown Little Rock Partnership in search of artists for pocket park mural
The Downtown Little Rock Partnership is in search of artists for a gallery wall assortment of murals in a pocket park venture coming this spring.
A slim stretch of grassy land off the 700 block of Foremost Avenue between the Donaghey Constructing and the adjoining parking deck in downtown Little Rock will likely be reworked right into a pocket park with picnic tables, string lighting and public murals. The venture is sponsored by native meals distribution firm Ben E. Keith Meals.
Ten artists will likely be chosen and paid to color a portion of the gallery wall, incorporating their interpretation of Ben E. Keith’s mantra “Eat Native. Eat Typically.” The mural will likely be situated on the south aspect of the parking deck going through the park, and the successful artists will likely be chosen by the Downtown Little Rock Partnership’s Public Areas Committee.
